‍"Perfect week to celebrate my 60th birthday, with all my family. the pool was a good size and was used every day. plenty of cutlery, crockery, cooking vessels, and dishes. we had 2x BBQ, and cooked for 14 people most days with no issues. would highly recommend for a large family group. large bedrooms with comfy beds, lots of inside and out seating. 2 peacocks were a bit vocal early in the morning but made up for it with all the photoshoots they provided. max was very responsive to messages pre visit and during our stay."

‍"Gogwell is amazing. The amount of space and the peace and quiet make it the perfect getaway for a family gathering. The beds are luxurious and perfect for a good night's sleep after a busy day of swimming and running around the garden and grounds. The garden is wonderful, we set up obstacle courses for the kids (and adults), had cricket matches and games of hide and seek.

The 2 dishwashers, 2 ovens and aga are a god-send when there is such a large group. And there was never any fighting for bathrooms as there are plenty of those too!

The house is comfortable and homely with absolutely everything you need to get by.

In times when life can be so hectic and busy it was wonderful to spend a week in the countryside looking out over the views and listening to the birds and wildlife.

‍"We went to the stunning Gogwell house to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday 🥳 together with our family.

Everyone simply loved the stay at Gogwell it was perfect for both grandparents and grandchildren. Everyone was so very pleased with their stay!

Gogwell has the most beautiful views and the house is beautifully decorated and it’s very homely and it’s easy to feel comfortable as soon as you enter the house.

We would love to come back here to enjoy the gardens, the views, the pool, the walks and so much more that this oasis has to offer!"

‍"We had the best weekend here and if you’re contemplating booking, just do it.

A group of 12 of us (6 couples) stayed here for a long weekend and we all wished we’d booked at least a week! It is one of the most peaceful places I’ve been and the grounds and views are stunning, we spent most of our time outdoors either playing croquet, in the pool, laying out on the lawn watching the peacocks and swallows or sat under the huge veranda watching the sun go down listening to owls.

The house itself is beautiful, spacious and everything has been done up to such a nice standard that it feels so homely and welcoming. Every bedroom is a good size and has incredibly comfy beds, me and my partner had the master suite and felt like we were in a luxury hotel room complete with huge ensuite with roll-top bath and dressing room (which can also be used as a nursery with cot and small childrens bed).

The kitchen had absolutely every single thing you could need and made cooking for a large group a pleasure, having this open plan with the dining room also made it a great place for drinks, games and socialising in the evenings.

I feel like I don’t have enough words to do Gogwell justice, but I’m writing this with serious holiday blues and we just can’t wait to come back one day!"

This place is perfect. The swimming pool is larger than it looks and a complete sun trap. The best staycation I’ve ever had.
House was gorgeous, morning coffee on the sofa on veranda looking at the views and the resident peacocks - heaven!!

"We had a wonderful stay at Gogwell. There was plenty of space for all of the family spread over six bedrooms and we lost count of the bathrooms and toilets. High up in the hills of Devon with fabulous views over the valley toward the [Sydmouth Gap], totally isolated from the world down its own farm track with no worries about Covid.

The heated swimming pool saw the kids swimming before breakfast, lunch and dinner and again before bed. It was pure pleasure just to be able to sit out on the verandah and chat into dusk after a home cooked meal on the Aga and the fire pit well stoked up to keep us warm. The other facilities were too many to mention but the kids enjoyed the table tennis and darts while we played croquet on the lawn. Thoroughly recommend."

"Stunning house in a stunning location. If you need to get away from it all in a secluded location then look no further. House is warm and cosy with a familiarity to it. The gardens set with views over beautiful countryside with the swimming pool giving you the need to no longer travel to the south of France.
