Hen Weekends in Devon
Gogwell House sleeps 14 in the Mid-Devon hills, with a heated pool, a yoga barn, a games room in the old stables and a vine-covered veranda. A hen weekend gets the whole house, with space for 14 to spread out.
A house that fits the whole group
Gogwell has eight bedrooms, usually set up as five superking beds and two twin rooms, with four bathrooms. Two sitting rooms have open fires and the dining room has a wood burning stove. The kitchen has an Aga, two extra ovens and hobs, two dishwashers and an American fridge.
Things to do without leaving the house
The heated pool is 15m long, wonderfully private and open between April and October. It has two shallow ends and is ideal for home rules water polo.
The barn has a yoga studio with oak floors, a wood burning stove, high ceilings and gothic style arched windows. Guests can book private classes with a local teacher during their stay.
The old stables are now a games room with a ping pong table, darts, table football, badminton, rounders, swing ball, cricket bats and more. Outside there is a croquet lawn, hammocks and a swing. There is also an optional hot tub, so ask us about it when you enquire.

Food and drink
There are lots of cooks in the area who will come to Gogwell and cook for a group, including Sarah Watson, Flora Bartlett, Le Frog and La Petite Bouchee. For a night out, the nearest pub is the Butterleigh Inn, about two miles away on foot, and the Queen's Head in Tiverton is under two miles away.
Good to know
Gogwell sits at the end of its own half-mile drive and is very private. Dogs are welcome, though we do not allow pets upstairs. It is around three hours from London by car, or just under two hours by train plus a short drive.
When you enquire, tell us your dates and how many are in the group and we will confirm availability.
